Now staying in Rhode Island. A visit to the nearby town of New Bedford showed how important Massachusets was over a hundred years ago both as a whaling harbour and a manufacturing centre.

One of the more cultural whaling sites is the Seamen's Bethel with its pulpit featured in Moby Dick.
